Famous Child Stars
Famous child stars. Most children dream of being famous one day, whether for being a footballer, a supermodel, or discovering a cure for cancer. But for some children fame comes too young, and can have an adverse effect on the rest of their lives. We take a look at some famous child stars, and what happened when the fickle finger of fame stopped pointing at them:

Infinity Pools

Infinity pools create an intriguing visual effect. Their crystalline water extends to the horizon and stretches to "infinity." Savor these pools that sweep your sights to Polynesian lagoons, the Pacific Ocean, the African plains and even the Himalayas.

Bilila Lodge Kempinski opened in 2009 in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The property features 74 guest rooms and suites, including the presidential villa (pictured) with its own infinity pool overlooking a wildlife watering hole. All rooms overlook the Serengeti plains, allowing guests to observe wild game from their private sun decks. The lodge provides private game drives, hot-air balloon rides and bush walks set against the backdrop of Africa’s wilderness. The Serengeti is home to lions, giraffes, gazelles, elephants and buffaloes.

Obama to Congress on debt talks: 'Get it done'

In a blunt challenge to Republicans in Congress, President Barack Obama insisted Wednesday that elimination of selected tax breaks for oil companies and the super-wealthy must be included in any deficit reduction plan.
"You stay here. Let's get it done," he all-but-lectured lawmakers, holding open the possibility of keeping Congress in Washington unless there is significant progress by week's end on a deal to cut deficits, raise the $14.3 trillion debt limit and avert a threatened financial crisis.
He said a plan must be in place by Aug. 2, a date he called "a hard deadline."
Obama drew a swift rebuttal from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, who issued a statement saying, "The president is sorely mistaken if he believes a bill to raise the debt ceiling and raise taxes would pass the House. The votes simply aren't there - and they aren't going to be there, because the American people know tax hikes destroy jobs."

Obama's views on gay marriage 'evolving'

Twice this week, President Obama suggested that he might become the first sitting U.S. president to support gay marriage. He said his views on whether same-sex couples should be allowed to marry are "evolving" and added that, although he is a longtime supporter of civil unions, "I recognize that from their perspective, it is not enough."

But none of this means that the White House is about to launch a national legalize-gay-marriage campaign.

First of all, marriage laws are largely written by individual states (Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont allow gay marriage, as does the District).

+quit your job in style

It sounds like something JetBlue flight attendant Steven Slater probably read over the weekend. But when DeMaio, who blogs at Working for Yourself, a writes of quitting a job in style, he’s not exactly talking big-S style as in Slater, Snooki and Salahi.

His advice is more more polished and professional and worth a review (edited down, below) before too many people decide they want to be working class heroes too:

Strategies to Help Unemployed Friends and Colleagues

It’s a New Year but national unemployment is still hovering around 9.4 per cent. And, the unemployed will continue to face unusually harsh economic conditions when looking for new jobs.

Recent surveys indicate that of the 15 million unemployed Americans, greater than 40 percent have been jobless for six months or more. Further, older Americans who may have worked 20 to 30 years for the same or several companies— and were recently layed off—face the prospect of competing with lower paid younger workers and the realities of “age discrimination” (yes, it does exist in the US even though Federal law prohibits job discrimination for persons aged 40 years or older). Finally, long term unemployed workers are likely to experience emotional and psychological problems like depression more than others.

Casey Anthony prosecution to rest Wednesday

A forensic expert said Tuesday that heart-shaped stickers were found in Casey Anthony's bedroom but didn't testify whether the items were linked to a similar outline observed on duct tape on the body of the Florida woman's slain 2-year-old daughter.
Even so, the stickers shown at the 25-year-old's murder trial over the objection of defense lawyers were powerful images just before the prosecution wraps up its case. Prosecutors plan to rest Wednesday after some last-minute housekeeping items.

Did Michelle Obama get a haircut? New bob has folks wondering

Did Michelle Obama go short? The first lady revealed a new hairstyle while hosting a panel event at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills on June 13.
While it looks drastic, it's not: Like Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift and Eva Longoria, who recently proved they didn’t have the heart to part with their locks, Mrs. O merely styled the faux bob – Hollywood’s easily mastered hair craze. The stylish summer ‘do is simple, fun and, more importantly, requires no scissors.

Start by gathering hair in the back and twisting it at the length you want the bob, then gently tuck the hair underneath and secure with several bobby pins. Gently pull out a few face-framing layers in front, then spritz on some hairspray to keep it in place.

Best Luxury Cars 2011 – Top 5 Vehicle List
The best luxury cars for 2011. These vehicles are high-class with the best interior styling and performance. This is the top 5 list.

1. 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class – Impressive interior and exterior styling, as well as competent road manners, makes this vehicle a serious contender among luxury cars. While the E-Class lacks sport sedan handling, most reviewers agree that it’s agile enough. However, the COMAND interface, which controls audio and climate functions, is still not the most intuitive system on the market.

2. 2011 BMW 5-Series – The BMW 5-Series has long been one of the best cars for driving enthusiasts. An entirely new design, the 2011 5-Series is more attractive than the car it replaces, but some reviewers say it doesn’t perform up to BMW’s usual standards. While the interior can please the driver, it does little to passengers.

Successful Coups. More than a week after junior military officers led by Navy Ltsg. Antonio Trillanes IV mounted an unusual protest action by holding fort at Oakwood in Makati for 19 hours, what has now actually emerged is that there were two coups against the constitution.

There was the failed one, the one that now appears to have been cooked—and abandoned, for now--by key politicians identified with the late Estrada administration directly exploiting the brewing discontent among the rank-and-file of the military and police.
