Betty Jo Blackburn, 78, of Fletcher Street, Wilkesboro, died Saturday June 22, 2012 after an extended illness.
Ms. Blackburn was born Dec. 26, 1933 in Wilkes County to Fred and Ethel Maynard Blackburn. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds, and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie A. Blackburn and Millard C. Blackburn.

Survivors include two brothers, Howard Wilborn Blackburn Sr. of North Wilkesboro and Sherley John Blackburn of Maiden.
Graveside services were held Sunday at Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Mathis officiating.
