Thirty years have officially passed, since the death of legendary reggae musician Bob Marley who passed away May 11, 1981. Marley was 36 when he lost his battle to cancer.

The musician had both brain and lung cancer, and died in Miami. Marley has crossover from Jamaica into the American audience with the song “Could You Be Loved.” He was in New York when he first collapsed months before, the Jamaican born musician had collapsed a few times.

Marley had also been a target to an assassination attempt where he was wounded in 1976. By 1997, his bob marley death
n May 1983, the Jamaican government created a statue in memory of the famous singer.

Many believed the statue was on poor quality, and the Prime Minister announced he would have another one built.
